Level Three: Formation

For adults working with the 9-12 year-old child

The Level 3 course builds on the foundation laid by the Level 1 & 2 courses.

This 120+ hour course will continue to ground participants in CGS theory and themes while preparing adults to develop an atrium community for 9-12 year old children.

In Level 3, the covenant is considered with respect to God's revelation and relationship with us through time: the ‘History of the Plan of God’. This theme is explored through: typological studies of Hebrew Scripture; the History of the Jewish People; a deeper look at the sacraments (including Confirmation and the Sacrament of the Sick); and the miracles of Jesus. Moral formation continues through an expansion of the Level 2 work on the maxims and includes an introduction to biblical virtues. Participants discuss organizing “going out” events with the Level 3 children.

The course is presented in the Roman Catholic tradition but includes awareness of material adaptations to the Anglican, Lutheran and Orthodox traditions.
