Level One: Formation
For adults working with the 3-6 year-old child
The Level I course lays the foundation of the theory and practices of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for all three levels of CGS.
This 90+ hour course concretely prepares the adult to work, to listen to the Word of God, and to learn with and from children.

to nurture the spiritual needs and capacities of the 3-6 year old child.

to engage the child in the work of Level 1 by listening together to the Word of God and proclaiming the Good News.

to guide 3-6 year old children into the mystery of the Kingdom of God through the words of scripture and the prayers of the church.

to prepare a Level 1 atrium and make some Level 1 materials.
Expectations:

100% attendance and engagement in group discussions, prayer, and simulated presentations using the materials.

Completion of all assigned reading.

(recommended) 10 hours minimum observation in a level 1 atrium and / or Montessori casa.

(recommended) Submission of a minimum of 10 completed personal album pages from 5 different subjects.
