CGSAC National Formation Facilitator “Virtual” Seminar
Life in the Vine: The Joyful Journey Continues a book study led by its author, Rebekah Rojcewicz
‘As we know, the very first of our “32 Characteristics” is focused on our commitment to the religious life of the child: how we view the child and how we “render discreet service” to the child, the Word, and the liturgy. Characteristic #24 then reminds us as catechists and formation facilitators that we are to always “go deeper into the Christian message through the knowledge of biblical and liturgical sources and of the ongoing, living tradition of the Church, including the theological, social, and ecumenical movements which enliven the Church today.”
Although the term “joyful journey” is often relegated only to the child’s particularly joyful journey of coming to know and fall in love with Jesus, His Kingdom, and His Church, it very much refers to us as well. We, who are called to “live with the child a shared religious experience,” must also know ourselves to be on a joyful journey. Just as the mystery of the Kingdom of God necessarily involves growth and transformation, as catechists and, even more so, as formation facilitators, we must be committed to a process of becoming ever more attuned to the child we seek to serve in the atrium (or adults before us in a course), to what is most essential in our faith, and to how the greatest mysteries of our faith unfold from their “vital nucleus” to an ever expanding horizon.’
With this aim in mind, you are invited to participate in a 3-part, online seminar.
